Graeme Price - Technical Services Manager

“I originally started out my career as a ground worker, but made my move across to sales soon after, working for some of the construction industry’s biggest materials manufacturers. I had a real thirst for knowledge and very quickly found that my passion lay in the technical understanding of products. Not just their material make-up and purpose but how they fit in the bigger picture; how they could be used as part of a bigger solution.”

Graeme’s passion has led him to becoming Technical Services Manager at Jewson Civils Frazer. In his role he is responsible for providing branch staff with the technical information that they may need, whether via the ongoing training programme he delivers to colleagues, or for specific project specifications. He’s at the very heart of supporting our ambition of being ‘more than a materials’ distributor, ensuring customers receive the best advice and solutions for projects in terms of cost, performance and sustainability.

“There’s a great deal of variety in my role which I love. At the end of the day, we are all here to benefit and support our customers; to provide them with a level of service and expertise that is unrivalled, and I get a lot of satisfaction from doing just that.

“I work with colleagues across our national network. If they have any queries or gaps in their own knowledge, I’m available to provide technical support alongside the manufacturer. This brings a real advantage to the teams, particularly if we need to source alternative systems to those specified by the customer.”

Going beyond providing advice, Graeme enjoys being able to educate his co-workers and seeing their own development. “Working alongside the learning and development team, I deliver regular training to colleagues to improve their knowledge and provide updates when new products are released. I take great pride in knowing I’m playing my part in developing our team, an important part of our Grow & Impact strategy. The real reward comes from seeing people grow in confidence and cementing their own success in the business.”
